She immediately experienced relief and, with time, learned that the benefits of yoga went far beyond improving her motion and the relief of back pain. In challenging times, yoga has helped her to stay more grounded, focused and in touch with herself and others. It has also helped her to manage stress and reduce the symptoms she experiences with Lyme Disease. Dana is a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT), who received her 200 hour teaching certification from the Satya Yoga in 2007. She has been happily sharing her joy and love of yoga ever since, teaching in a variety of settings throughout the Hudson Valley. Dana focuses the content of her classes to meet the various needs of the individuals in order for them to fully receive the benefits yoga has to offer. She takes the time to understand the needs and levels of experience of each of her students. She offers modifications making her class fun and accessible for the beginner while allowing more seasoned students the chance to deepen their practice. Dana lives in LaGrange with her husband, two sons and her “girls” (otherwise known as her beloved free range hens). When she isn’t practicing yoga or tending to her “flock” Dana can be found working in her organic vegetable garden.
